A LITTLE ABOUT ME
I’m a nationally known South Florida based kitchen and bath designer. I have been collaborating with clients for over 20 years helping them discover opportunities for creative personal expression with seamless function.
I’m a Florida native who is deeply immersed and influenced by my local environment. When I’m not designing, you will likely find me painting or reading a book by the intracoastal and spending time with my beautiful family.
I’m also an enthusiastic globetrotter ready to be inspired by the bigger picture and experiences offered outside of my local love. I’ve been known to travel to go see art exhibitions or to take print making classes as I enjoy learning new ways to make art, and to indulge my own creativity.

Hello! I’m Susie Thompson. Artful Kitchens is my new home. I have been working as an apprentice under the superb tutelage of Gloria Sollecito for 5 years. I am proud to be her assistant and confidently claim the title of “Kitchen and Bath Design consultant”.
A LITTLE ABOUT ME
I’ve been creative all my life. Delving into anything from drawing, writing poetry, singing and acting as I grew up in Dallas, Texas. The latter led me to ballroom dancing in college which ultimately made me realize my talent for dance. I competed for a good 20 years and won multiple titles and was in 14 United States Championships with a small variety of partners, including winning United States American Rhythm Champion for 5 of those years. My teaching methods are creative and inspired by art in movement.
During that time, I was inspired by a good friend in interior design and started playing with colors, faux finishes, and refinishing furniture, while picking his brain.
I’ve lived in a variety of places and moved to Florida in 1993 due to a new dance partnership. My houses have been my “play toys” in creating new looks. That led to friends asking me to design and create things in their homes and businesses. When I was helping a friend with the design of her kitchen, whose brain did I pick? Gloria Sollecito, of course, a long time friend who I greatly admire for the designs she creates. Luckily, she liked my eye and asked me to work for her.
I truly enjoy the entire process of design, from the initial consultation to the finished product. There is such a variety to design and I appreciate it all. My favorite saying is, “Variety is the spice of life”. My second is, “Can’t wait for all the lights to turn green before you head into the city!” Let us create something for you today!
